Documents

Ensuring proper documentation and adhering to regulations and procedures are crucial. If your pet's paperwork is not in order at the airport, it can have unpleasant consequences. In the worst-case scenario, authorities may decide to detain the animal. This means the pet will be placed in quarantine until it has the necessary documents proving compliance with health requirements. Alternatively, local customs may choose to immediately return the animal. In severe cases, the local authorities (customs and/or veterinary services) may even euthanize the pet. Any additional costs incurred will be billed to the pet owner by customs.
